Ligmincha International at Serenity Ridge is hosting the following events and activities in November and December. We hope you’ll join us!


  • November 2–5, 2017: Tibetan Bön Yoga, Part 1 with Alexandro Chaoul-Reich. Beginners and experienced students alike are invited to join us November 2–5 for instruction in the ancient practice of Tibetan yoga, from the Bön A-tri Dzogchen tradition. This course can stand alone and also will be the first in a series of teachings to take place over the next three years.

  • November 3–5, 2017: Tibetan Bön Yoga, Postgraduate, Part 5, with Alexandro Chaoul-Reich and honored guest Geshe Tenzin Yangton. Deepen your training in the ancient practice of yoga (trul khor) from the Bon Buddhist tradition of Tibet as we explore the body's energetic dimensions and integrate the practice with everyday life. 
    Open to all who have done Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Tibetan Bon yoga from Ligmincha International since 2002.

  • December 26, 2017–January 1, 2018: The Experiential Transmission of the Zhang Zhung, Part 4 with Geshe Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. The Experiential Transmission series, the centerpiece of Rinpoche's dzogchen teachings, is presented each year at our Winter Retreat. Part 4 focuses on how to overcome obstacles to practice while sustaining and cultivating the results achieved during previous parts of the cycle. Live translation available in Spanish.
    Prerequisite: Previous completion of Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Experiential Transmission of Zhang Zhung series.

Geshe Yangton will be on person retreat in November and will not lead any practice sessions. Regular practice sessions resume in December.

  • Tuesdays, 6–7 p.m.: Meditation sessions with Geshe Tenzin Yangton are held each Tuesday in the Garuda House shrine room, unless otherwise noted. Sessions are generally not scheduled during retreats at Serenity Ridge.To confirm future meetings, please call the Serenity Ridge office at 434-263-6304.

  • Sundays, 10–11:15 a..m: Geshe Tenzin Yangton is leading a second weekly meditation practice on Sundays from 10–11:15 a.m. in the Garuda House Shrine Room, when the retreat center is not otherwise occupied. The Sunday practice will focus on tsa lung breathing and movements, with gradual introduction to trul khor (Tibetan yoga). Geshe Tenzin Yangton gompa horizontalGeshe Tenzin Yangton, the resident lama at Serenity Ridge Retreat Center, is available to perform prayers, offerings and other rituals for sangha members and friends. Rituals are available in your home or at Serenity Ridge, depending on what is requested. 

In keeping with longstanding Tibetan Bon Buddhist tradition, these rituals can be performed to offer blessings and generate merit, remove obstacles, purify negative energy, fulfill wishes, benefit those who have died and heal the living. They can be requested for oneself or for a friend or family member.
