Ligmincha International Treasurer
Bob Clark became Treasurer of Ligmincha International at the end of 2014. Bob began studying with Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and the Bon lineage in 2002. His connection to Tibetan Buddhism first arose during encounters with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Khentsur Lobsang Nordup Rinpoche while studying abroad in India in 1994. He lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with his wife and two daughters and is a humanities teacher and Director of Religious Life at St. Anne's-Belfield School. The son of a landscape nurseryman, he finds creative expression through tending a boxwood meditation garden.
Sue was first introduced to Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche in 1996 while living in the San Francisco Bay area. Shortly thereafter she moved to Virginia in order to fully immerse herself in his teachings. Sue received her bachelor of science in applied mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed a master of arts in counseling psychology in 1999. In 2000 she became founding manager of the Ligmincha Institute Bookstore and Tibet Shop. For 10 years as bookstore manager she developed the physical store as a resource for Bon practitioners, expanding the model to include an online store that ships products to customers worldwide. Sue became Ligmincha's Executive Director in 2010 at the request of its Board of Directors.
Retreat Center Developer, Serenity Ridge Council
A longtime student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, John develops and organizes long- and short-term building and development projects for the Serenity Ridge Retreat Center; including a new building project under way at Serenity Ridge to meet the needs of the growing community. John designs houses and gardens for private clients in the Winchester, Va., area. He first awakened to Buddhism at Tongdosa, one of the three founding Buddhist temples of Korea. This led to his studying temple gardens in Kyoto and, for the past 35 years, pursuing an interest in sacred gardens, art and architecture around the world. He received his bachelor of arts in German literature from Washington & Lee University and a bachelor of landscape architecture from Virginia Tech. He lives in Winchester, Va.
President and Board Chair, Ligmincha International
Rob is President and Chief Financial Officer of Ligmincha International and Chair of Ligmincha International Board. He first encountered Bon in 2007 and immediately found his spiritual home within the lineage. He has served as Chief Financial Officer for Ligmincha since 2012 and President since summer 2015. Rob teaches yoga in the tradition of Dharma Mittra. Previously he spent 19 years working as the Chief Investment Officer and a Senior Manager for Third Security, LLC, an investment firm, and before that he was an instructor of English at Virginia Tech. He has a B.A. in philosophy and an M.A. in literature from Virginia Tech. He and his wife, Eileen, live in Blacksburg, Va.
Stella Richards, Ph.D.
Stella was introduced to Serenity Ridge by head chef Pat Leavitt and worked part-time in the kitchen for three years before becoming Operations Manager of Serenity Ridge in November 2014. Sh is a student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.Stella also has an ongoing part-practice as a depth psychologist, as well as a biodynamic farm that occasionally sells produce to the Serenity Ridge kitchen.
Ligmincha International Board Member
Gabriel is a senior student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche, the mind-body health specialist at the Wellness Community in Philadelphia, staff instructor for the University of Pennsylvania’s Program for Stress Management and a therapist in private practice. He received his master of arts in contemplative psychotherapy from Naropa University. Gabriel co-designed the curriculum and is a U.S. teacher for The Three Doors Academy, a three-year training program that presents experientially-based teachings and meditation practices to support connection to one’s sacred body, genuine speech and luminous mind. He is a longtime member of the Ligmincha International Board of Directors and previously served as Board Chair.
Ligmincha International Board Member
Pam has been a student of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche since 1994 and served as treasurer of Ligmincha from 1995 through 2014. She served on the Ligmincha Council for many years, and now serves on the Ligmincha International Board of Directors. Pam is retired from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where for 32 years she was a medical researcher and manager of a wound healing lab in the Department of Plastic Surgery. For 10 of those years she also worked with UVA’s Center for the Study of Complementary and Alternative Therapies, where she conducted clinical research on the healing effects of electromagnetic modalities, yoga, massage and sound frequencies.
